An Ayurvedic Approach to Yin Yoga:
A Quiet Practice for Pranic Healing, 3 hours
Yin Yoga is a naturally pacifying practice that harmonizes the flow of prana through the nadis, and offers tangible methods for developing energetic awareness. By holding passive asana for an extended period of time, deep held tension and emotional obstructions are released from the connective tissue. These shapes, combined guided meditation on breath awareness, marma points, and chakras translates into a first hand experience of sattvic peace and pranic restoration, as well as renewed flexibility and joint mobility.
Modifications are available for all body types.
Sunday 6/28 1 - 4 PM
Experience the Chakras with Yin Yoga, 3 hours
Yin Yoga, which consists of passive postures held for lengthy amounts of time, is an essential complement to the more active styles of yoga. It encourages the flow of prana through the system, and provides a perfect opportunity to explore the energy body and chakra system. During the yin sequence there will be guided meditations to enliven each center. This is followed by a vinyasa (yang) sequence to create balance, savasana, and seated chakra meditation.
Suitable for anyone who has been practicing yoga for at least one year and has a strong interest in the energy body.
Bio
Practicing since age eight, Daniel now shares his experience through teaching yin yoga and meditation with heart-felt wisdom; using metaphor, story-telling, and humor to remind students of their true nature, inherent goodness, and boundless strength. He experiences deep gratitude for the guidance of his Yin Yoga Teacher, Sarah Powers, and also enjoys working with Paulie Zink, the founder of Yin Yoga.
Daniel is the director of Main Line Yoga, in Ardmore. When not working, he mixes his own herbal teas, grows his own food, plays ukulele kirtan, and mercilessly teases his cat, The Venerable Sariputta.
