Yoga Class Descriptions
Beginner Yoga: Also See Yoga 101
Stage 1 Willfull practice, body and breath awareness. You begin with understanding of breath (Prana). Using the prana to move into and out of Asanas (Poses) easily. You will end with final relaxation, allowing your body and mind to rest. Leave class with a clear focused mind and body awareness.
All Levels Intermediate/ Vinyasa Flow:
NEED MOVEMENT IN LIFE? This class is designed for you! A yoga class intended to get you moving. A moderate flow of asanas combined with prana will tone and strengthen your body from head to toe. Be prepared to get sweaty! Reduce stress, gain flexibility, mobility, & balance. Leave class with a clear and focused mind and a body that moves with fluidity when you want it to! Bring a bottle of water and hand towel to class. Arm balances and inversions will be atempeted in this practice.
SLOW FLOW: A Gentle slow moving flow of feel good postures with details for alignment. This practice is great for beginners and advanced students that would like to bring a deeper focus to their body and prana (breath) awareness as well as asana (posture) alignment.
Yoga Stretch:
A GENTLE class for all levels of practice, beginners and experienced practicioners welcome! During this class you will focus on asanas that encourage relaxation and movement while connecting with your breath. You begin with an inital relaxation to prepare your body and mind for the class. The asanas will strengthen and stretch the body, increasing flexablity of your spine. Modifications and props will be available to you when necessary. Emphasis is on form and proper prana (breathing). Learn to focus inward, while opening your heart and mind at the same time.
Sunset Yoga on the Lake: Returns Spring 2012
A gentle flow of asanas for beginners to advanced students. Class is held outside in the grass overlooking a beautiful lake with serene surroundings while the sun is setting. Please bring a mat or towel to practice on, bottled water and sunglasses. Please arrive on time to, 11 Antina Drive, CMCH. Please park in Col-du-sac. Enter to the left of the house located at the lake. Be aware that Antina Dr. will NOT show up on GPS...it will show on Google Maps or Map Quest. This is a PRIVATE LAKE, so let's not abuse our privilege to use it, be kind and courteous to surrounding neighbors and property. Try to make sure you class pass is up to date before arriving to this class. Cash & Check ONLY for Drop-in students and purchase of class passes.
Yoga 101: Next Session Fall 2011 Mondays at 630 Start Date 9/26 For REAL Beginners learn basic postures, terminology and breathing techniques over the course of 5 weeks. Also, learn modifications of postures and props that may be used with each one. Yoga 101 will ensure that you always have a safe yoga practice that fits your needs no matter where you are practicing. Pre-Registration is required. Tuition $100 includes 5 Yoga 101 classes and unlimited regularly scheduled classes throughout the 5 weeks. No refunds will be given for missed Yoga 101 classes or lack of participation in unlimited classes.
Meditation & Philosophy (Satsang):~Wednesdays at 5:55~
Join every Monday to discuss yoga philosophy, practice meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises) , and chanting. The texts reviewed will be "The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali "- Translation and Commentary by Sri Swami Satchidananda & "Meditation and Mantras" - Sri Swami Vishnu-devananda. Please bring a cushion for your comfort! Also, please feel free to bring your favorite inspirational reading to share with the group. This is a *FREE* gathering! No Experience Necessary!
