Saturday, 1/29, 1:00 – 3:00: 

Introduction to Meditation &  Pranayama (Breathing Exercises)

Tuition $25             

During this workshop, guidelines and tools for meditation will be discussed.  You will also learn several breathing exercises and their effect on the body - proper breathing brings oxygen to the brain and controls prana (vital energy).  Come enjoy an afternoon of cleansing and peace of mind.

 

Monday, 1/31, 6:25 – 7:10:  Breath Focus Meditation

Tuition $15 

There’s something to that saying “Take a deep breath”.  Focusing on our breath is an excellent way to achieve one-pointedness.  Join us to learn ways in which to use your breath as the focus in your meditation practice.

 

Monday, 2/14, 6:25 – 7:10:  Tratak/Steady Gaze Meditation

Tuition $15

Ever notice that feeling of calm after being mesmerized by watching the ocean or a fireplace?  Join us to learn how to intentionally replicate that feeling by using a technique called Tratak. 

 

 

Monday, 2/28, 6:25 – 7:10:  Japa/Mantra Repetition Meditation

Tuition $15

Words are very powerful – they can cause us to think of an image and illicit an emotional response.  By using mantra repetition for meditation, one can invoke the Absolute.  Learn how to use inspirational phrases and Sanskrit mantras during meditation.

 

Monday, 3/14, 6:25 – 7:10:  Chakra Meditation (guided)

Tuition $15

Chakras are the points where energy channels in the body intersect; the seven main chakras are located down the center of the body.  This guided meditation will draw your attention to the properties, colors and sounds of these seven main chakras. 

 

Monday, 3/28, 6:25 – 7:10:  Walking Meditation

Tuition $15

Many of us walk to local destinations or incorporate walking into our fitness routine.  What if we were able to turn that walk into a meditation?  Join us to learn techniques to still the mind and nurture the spirit while in motion.
